Buyout: Andres Torres - $1.25 for 3 years. Total b/o is $2 (round up), so I lose $.75/.75/.50, I believe.

I believe my spreadsheet has some (related) errors:

- Andres Torres is listed in my buyouts, but still on my roster.
- I believe my cap number does not include his buyout, nor some other updates.

Other than Torres, I have 19 players on my spreadsheet (same as yours) - total salaries of $54.50. The salaries match your spreadsheet, just think the total needs to be updated.

For my total available cap, I have me at $66 - you have me at $66.75, which makes sense if the Torres buyout hasn't been deducted yet.

For 2014, I have me at $53 used, $74.25 cap, 17 signed.
For 2015, I have me at $52.50 used, $70.75 cap, 16 signed.
For 2016, I have me at $17.75 used, $74 cap, 10 signed.
For 2017, I have me at $15.25 used, $74 cap, 7 signed.

For my own purposes, I'm going into the auction with $11.50 to spend on 1 pitcher and up to 6 more players.

I just took Torres off your roster. In regards to the totals for everything I just think we calculate them differently. With the buyouts I add that .75 to the total cap section instead of taking .75 away from cap space so basically the same thing. Reason for that is the total cap section just sums up the whole roster including buyouts and the cap space section is the set amount where I manually go and change time someone trades cap. No idea but that's how it's set up and I assume since we get the same available cap that it doesn't really matter which way it operates.

For 2014, we're off by the .75 used which again is where I have Torres .75 for his buyout so that makes sense.

I'll have to look at your years to see where we are off but some of it will be off by at least .75 because of the different ways we put Torres.

Tell me if I'm doing it wrong so I can fix it please.

Without thinking too much about it, that doesn't really seem wrong. Probably simpler to keep everyone's max cap at what it is (so the league's total will always be the same). So if I buy out Torres, I basically just have a ghost Torres on my team for those years, at his bought out price. Yeah, I think that works better.

With that change and Torres fixed, I think things look good. Can't see my roster at work, but do you have me at $11.50 available and 19 players signed?

yes I have you at 19 and 11.50. I do have some differences on future years. Here is what your sheet has you at for future.

Weird. I'll try to look things over tonight, as I'll have the spreadsheet available when I get home. As long as this season's numbers are the same, no big deal.

ughhhhh. this years cap should equal 900. 75*12 but it adds up to 902 and 2014 adds up to 898. Guess I'll dig through transactions to see where it's wrong. hopefully I find it before draft time.

That's annoying - those things are pretty much impossible to trace, and most of us don't keep our own spreadsheets as up-to-date/checked as we should.

If you can't find it, it isn't the end of the world. Maybe someone has an extra buck or two of cap, but no need to spend hours figuring out the mistake.

I'm pretty sure we are off a bit every year in the FCHL too. I wouldn't worry about it too much.

fwiw, my spreadsheet matches yours as far as my squad goes.

Dan, I'm way too anal about being perfect on this stuff. It doesnt show obv because I mess up all the time but with these $ amounts I will find the error. I don't care how long it takes :)

Already found one of them and it had to do with you!

Dan, help me out here.

I didn't ever add that +2 to your 2014 cap for that trade with Steve. Is it possible that i added it to your 2013 cap instead? We have this calculation for your 2013 cap space =68.25+2-1.75-.25-.5-1 we can account for all of the amounts except the $2. DO you know where that came from or did I originally apply your $2 from 2014 to 2013 instead?

Just so I know when to look and/or think about, do you add new transactions to the beginning or end? Would the $2 be the most recent thing, or the farthest back?

If, in the above formula, the $2 is the most recent transaction, then it's gotta be the situation you described, with the money added to the wrong year from the Ellis trade.

That would suck, I already have way less for this year than I wanted : )

the transactions should be from this season only because the formulas from the last sheets didn't carry over. We went through all trannies from this year regarding 2013 and your $2 stuck out.

to answer your question the $2 would be the furthest back because I add the newest stuff to the right, that is unless I miss something like when I added your $2 to 2014 I put it in the left so I could keep track of when it occurred.

I'm thinking since the $2 is to the left it was that trade that you and steve did and I put the $2 to 2013 instead of 2014. Let me know if you find something because I don't want to just reduce your 2013 cap by $2 but I truly think I had to have made that mistake or it's just some strange coincidence.

and the Ellis trade was the furthest back in time/earliest I think so wouldn't it make more sense for the $2 to be to the left and not the right if it was an error?

I can't find any other trades that I've made involving $2, so I guess it'll have to be that. Bleh.
