Fell asleep before it was over (this kid is killing me) but knew my cushion was good.
Great series John. I was pretty bummed out when I got down 3-0 and am still shocked I pulled it out. Thanks for making my first finals about as exciting as one could be.
I'm pretty proud about my run. I did sweep the first two series but that does not at all reflect the true nature of those teams. I get to say that I beat a perennial favorite ( in any fantasy league) in Andre who won the championship 2 years ago and was the runner up last year. Then I go up against the regular season champs in the Bulls who beat me 8 out of 11 leading up to our matchup. Then to face last years Champ in the finals. Couldn't ask for a more satisfying run against the best teams in the league.
Dale and others will be happy to know that at some point late last night the horseshoe fell out of my ass. I gave pretty much everything I could to win this year and my team will not compete the next few years as they have the last 3.
Thanks to Matt for taking over admin duties. Not having to worry about all that stuff this year made me able to enjoy the league much more. Thanks to Danny for keeping the fort standing and making this league fun for all.
I know have to try and win one in the fchl to make my life complete.
Congrats to the comeback kid! Great series, capping off a great season. A big thanks to everyone involved for your work, patience, company and fun. I'm not looking forward to a few months off (with no hockey!?) but excited for next year.
Thanks to you all being so awesome, I've collected all of the monies and can pay out the winners immediately. You have the option to receive money by electronic money transfer (for Canadians), Pokerstars (maybe) or Paypal. Americans will receive $25 USD, Canadians will receive $25 CAD (unless its Pokerstars) because I think that's how most people paid me. Any of the winners have the choice to leave me with $25 for next year's entry fee or have me pay someone else to settle bets. I'll contact all the winners privately, and we can discuss payment.
Championship Winner ($150) - Steve + Jin / Fearsome Beavers Champsionship Runner-up ($50) - John / Broadway Regular Season Champion ($100) - Dave / Lethbridge Bulls
OMG. only 6 or 7 months until I can free myself of Figgins and Borbon. I'm already ready and excited to go for next season!
List of things to do:
finish processing transactions organize rosters, draft picks, and farm players look over rules and potential changes contracts other stuff make schedule
You're the best Matt. One thing I'd like to do (me, not you) this offseason is review farm teams and add a column for 'required call-up date' - so check out everyone's draft year and age, and put right in the farm pages when they'll be required call-ups. That won't take into account any performance or games played requirements (if relevant) but it'll help a lot, and avoid things being missed.
