That is some sweetness on that Donaldson contract!
Can't take credit for it though. Josh is the one who drafted him at $1. He then traded him to me. I paid for the value in the contract with a 1st rd pick I believe
I realize the timestamp is just showing as "yesterday", confusing when it actually happened. Just wanted to point out that I did see the last post before the deadline on the 15th, so it should be legal.

I think 1.5 and 1.5 is my penalty for 14 and 15 which should give me 36.25 available for this years draft
Also, I don't remember how this works but if you buyout someone who is in there last year of contract (Konerko) is there still a 50% penalty? Somewhere in the back of my mind there was an instance where you would get full credit in the last year of contract. Not really sure about this

I was told you have to wait till AFTER the draft, otherwise you still have to pay the buyout penalty. The rules don't spell it out very clearly, but from what I understand, this has been addressed previously and may or may not be standard in the FCHL

Was Wells 2.5/2.75/3 for 14/15/16? Or Are those years for 13/14/15?
If it is 14/15/16, his buyout would be 1.5/1.5/1.25. In the latter case, it is 1.5/1.5.
If a player is in the last year of his contract, he can be dropped for free, and isn't technically a buyout. But that has to be after the roster freeze. If you have a player signed for the coming season and want to have the money available to you at auction, it is a buyout and you pay half the salary for any remaining seasons.
